Moles In Our Holes!

Feith and Friends are spooky deep story characters we try to keep tabs on from time to time.

Raw Story posted the following:
As previously reported by Raw Story, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) inquiry -- titled Phase II -- is waiting on a report from the Pentagon inspector general as to Feith's alleged role in manipulating pre-war intelligence to support a case for war. Feith, who is also being probed by the FBI for his role in an Israeli spy case, resigned in January 2005. Read More

Are you aware that Asst. Secretary Feith made the absolutely serious recommendation in the days following 9-11 to strike back at the terrorists.

By attacking Colombia.

I shit you not.

Do I have to Google that or do you have a link handy? That is both odd and interesting in a kinda Hegelian way.

Are you carrying out an info op on my impressionable Meatball? Are you co-opting my dissent? The room is spinning.

Come outta the shadows EFFWIT or Meatball One will HALO in on your next BBQ and pull off your silicone nose.

Meatball One:

I heard about the Feith plan for Colombia a couple of years ago.

I will stand by that story.

However, I just tried to Google up any corroboration and failed.

It may have appeared in General Tommy Franks book, I don't know.

No black op in progress. It is the truth as far as I know.

Meatball One:

It appeared as a footnote in the 9-11 report (A document that I would not even wipe my ass with, much less read.)

Notes to Chapter 10. Footnote number 75. Pages 559-560.

In a memo that appears to be from Under Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith to Rumsfeld, dated September 20, the author expressed disappointment at the limited options immediately available in Afghanistan and the lack of ground options. The author suggested instead hitting terrorists outside the Middle East in the initial offensive, perhaps deliberately selecting a non al Qaeda target like Iraq. Since U.S. attacks were expected in Afghanistan, an American attack in South America or Southeast Asia might be a surprise to the terrorists.

The way I heard it, he specifically mentioned Colombia.

Excellent, Monsieur EFFWIT.

I've read the report once and a half previously. Talk about the Zen of Obfuscation. I wouldn't use the reports torn out pages to wrap the frozen reject-meatballs I donate to the local dog pound each Christmas.

In comparison, The Warren Commision Report deserves a Nobel Prize.

Slick ain't it...how the 911 report's official purpose was to discover how to prevent an attack from happening again - not to elucidate what happened peri-911.

Fascinating. There we have him taking the first best chance of squeezing in Iraq as a target de reprisal...and suggesting S. American attacks to disguise his eagerness for the specific Iraq attack - his hidden agenda.

Columbia makes sense now. You're BBQ is to be left alone. Orders have already gone out. My cognitive dissonance has dissipated.

I believe that you have hit the nail on the head:

I had always assumed that it was another example of Feithian dumbshittery. The evil genius angle might just fit.

Mange tusen takk for sparing me the airborne intrusion.

Now you tell me.

I spent all day pounding in punji sticks.

There can never be too much of rare commodities like fear & anxiety, Monsieur EFFWIT. It keeps us on our tippy toes.

And I see that both your Skankanavian and French are markedly improving. I always knew you were a bright kid!

(Punji sticks, eh?! That be nasty, Gringo)

BTW, I more prefer the angle of 'Feithian dumbshittery'. It has a soothing quality to it.
